Enchanted Fairy Door Trail
Part of your Admission into the Gardens
Imagine finding a map, a magical map, which allowed us to see into an enchanted world, a world where mythical creatures live side by side with us.
When the lake was dredged in 2015, we discovered an old parchment showing a map of the garden. The map is undated and thought to belong to an old head gardener called Reuben, who worked here over 100 years ago.
The map, if followed, can show us that there are other inhabitants of the garden. Minute creatures, like elves and fairies, busily going about their day, with wonderful names like Master of the Woods, Walter Vole, Fairy Ghimbles, and Robin Run in the Grass. There are also a number of Goblins but Wormwood is the naughtiest.
This map, if used well, will guide you around the garden. Suddenly you will be able to see their houses, but if you do find them, beware for if you touch them they may put a spell on you. I bet you don't fancy going home with four ears, a curly tail or pigs snout!
